Flin Flon Series

I’ve always been a northerner.

Of course there were periods of time when I didn’t live in the north. It’s funny because I remember always thinking, ‘I can’t wait to get out of this place. As soon as I can I’m leaving.’ The big city had so much allure and promise. But, it didn’t take long for me to know that I was a still a northerner- just living in a different place.

When I go about my daily life now, back in the north, I see the same things that I saw way back then. I remember those old feelings but I don’t feel the same anymore. These scenes embody layers of meaning and time for me. I find comfort in the beauty that surrounds me, even though the ghosts of the past live there alongside it.
